Hayley Trower

I am a BACP registered holistic psychotherapist with a specialism in mind-body principles and a PhD in applied music psychology. I help people with people-pleasing, anxiety, low self-esteem, confidence issues, relationship issues, addiction, childhood trauma and other aspects of life that are challenging. I provide a respectful and safe environment (online or in person) so that you can freely and creatively explore your thoughts and feelings. I will be your ally as we work together to help you feel more at home in your mind and body.

My approach is integrative which means that I am qualified to work within a range of modalities including psychodynamic theory, person-centred, and rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT). During our sessions, we will explore how your past experiences and interactions are influencing the present. This will help you to understand the root cause of your issues, patterns, and habits, and how you relate to others. Understanding these aspects of yourself will help you to make foundational changes and become a more authentic version of you. We would also explore practical solutions and holistic methods such as breathwork, music, deep relaxation, and mindfulness.

After therapy, you will be equipped with a variety of holistic tools so that you can connect deeply with yourself from a mind-body-spirit-environment perspective. You will learn how to recognise your own needs, how to be true to yourself, and you’ll be able to set gentle yet clear boundaries with yourself and others.

Having worked as a research psychologist for more than 10 years, I have a foundational understanding of the human mind and behaviour. My own life-changing therapy led to a career shift, and I have been working as a private practice psychotherapist since 2021. I have a gentle and flexible approach, and I adhere to ethical guidelines for best practice.
